Bob has over 42 years’ experience performing, reviewing and reporting as an auditor, including over 34 years providing accounting and auditing services to Tribal governments and their related entities and organizations. Bob grew up in the Southwest in a multicultural environment that included Anglo, Zuni, Navajo, and Hispanic populations learning, working, and cooperating together across community, religious, and ethnic boundaries as a friend and neighbor. Bob participated in high school sports activities with teammates from all these communities and competed, as well, with teams of similar makeup. Bob is adept at establishing a common ground with our clients to facilitate understanding and cooperation as we both strive to comprehend and apply the challenging accounting and auditing standards appropriate for this unique sector of our economy and culture.
Bob is a CPA and Certified Governmental Financial Manager with extensive training and experience in specialized audit and regulatory issues. Bob maintains relationships with various Inspectors’ General offices, as well as various State Auditor’s offices to remain current on changes in regulations and policies affecting clients. He often serves as an advisor to governmental agencies and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Pacific Northwest Intergovernmental Audit Form, the Special Review Committee of the Governmental Financial Officers Association, and is a past chairman of the Governmental Accounting & Auditing Committee for the WSCPA. Bob has experience consulting with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, Federal and Nonfederal Funding Agencies to ensure our clients and our firm comply with professional standards for accounting, auditing, and reporting.
In addition to his current position providing services to Indian Tribes, he has many years of experience working with for-profit businesses and cooperatives as well as government entities such as cities, ports, utility or irrigation districts, and nonprofit organizations.
In his free time….
An “empty nester” whose eight children are now raising families of their own, Bob and his wife enjoy working together at home, traveling to visit children and grandchildren, riding his Softail Harley-Davidson, golfing (not often enough), and is always wanting to see what is at the end of a road he hasn’t traveled before. The highlight of each year is an annual golf/Mariner’s game outing with his sons and grandsons.
